The second annual What's Brewing in Westlake will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. July 25 at Equity Trust Atrium, 1 Equity Way, Westlake.
Tickets are $25 and on sale through July 12. All ticket sales will support Westlake's community services programs, including Meals on Wheels and a food pantry. Event sponsors and underwriters are Equity Trust and Sibling Revelry Brewing.
Besides being entertained by live music, attendees will be served hors d'oeuvres and given two drink tickets. In addition, there will be a sideboard raffle and a wine pull. A wine pull allows an attendee to purchase a ticket entitling them to a bottle of wine. However, all the bottles are wrapped so it's possible the purchaser will pull a bottle of wine that is quite expensive.
Last year's event generated more than $1,800 to support Westlake's Community Services programs. Director Lydia Gadd said some may not realize the extent of poverty affecting 1,300 local children, families and older residents. Last year, Gadd's department provided 934 subsidized meals through Meals on Wheels and helped 260 individuals through its food pantry. At the holidays, more than 220 food baskets were distributed.
