Avon city officials are anxiously waiting for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to award the bid for the I-90 interchange to be built at Nagel Road.

ODOT has received the bids on the project, Avon Planning Coordinator Jim Piazza said Friday.

“They are reviewing them right now,” he said.

According to Piazza, District 3 ODOT officials estimated the project would cost approximately $16.4 million.

The lowest bid came in at $16.1 million. The highest bid came in at $19 million.

“I think they will award next Thursday (Aug. 4), as long as the bids are good,” Piazza said, noting that the top three lowest bidders are each separated by less than a half of a million dollars.
