The Rotary Club of North Ridgeville installed a new president for 2010-11 on Friday. Carl Commons (shown in photo) took the oath of office as president, with president-elect Kathy LeRoy, secretary Paul Graupmann, treasurer Robert Bunsey and sergeant at arms Shawn Mueller also sworn in. Directors for 2010-13 are Traci Purdum and Paul Cruz. They join directors Brian Ramser and Kim Cromwell (2008-11) and Bob Liston and Glenn Zimbelman (2009-2012).

The Rotary International theme for the coming year is “Building Communities, Bridging Continents.” Friday’s meeting took place in the Senior Center at the corner of Bainbridge Road and SR 83.

In his acceptance speech, Commons encouraged fellow Rotarians and guests to become active in giving back to the community.

“We, as individuals, were not intended to live our lives in isolation,” Commons said. “We need your time … and your heart.”
