WESTSHORE - This past weekend, communities across the West Side braved Friday and Saturday cold and rain to celebrate the official beginning of the Christmas season in their communities. Food trucks, Santas, elves, carriage rides, public speeches, caroling and fireworks rang in the season.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — While the holiday season officially starts Thursday, Christmas trees already have been popping up. But look closely and you’ll see that not all of these trees include ordinary ornaments. Some ornaments have the names of older residents on them and gifts they desire.
