Students present self-written books to families

More than 200 students in grades three to five recently participated in the annual Young Authors event at Avon Heritage Elementary School. Students heard an inspiring message from national children’s author Tom Watson during an assembly May 14. Watson, whose books include the ‘Stick Cat’ and ‘Stick Dog’ series, appeared for a meet-and-greet session and signed books later that evening at a Young Authors Open House. The event highlights the books created by students this spring. These books were displayed in the cafeteria for parents and students to view.
