Credit cards stolen
A worker at the Wear It Again consignment shop said July 13 someone took six credit cards from her wallet during the day while she was working.
A 56-year-old Lorain man was arrested for drunk driving at 2:45 a.m. July 14 shortly after police stopped the car he was driving on Colorado Avenue for going through a red light.
An Avon man said July 15 someone tried to get into his bank accounts via his computer and withdraw money.
Two lawn mowers taken
A Lake Road man found July 15 someone had taken two push lawn mowers from a storage shed sometime during the previous few days.
A Grafton woman said July 17 her truck was damaged at 11 a.m. by a rock someone threw while she was on Pin Oak Parkway. She did not report any injuries.
Police checked a 10:30 a.m. July 18 report of an unruly 15-year-old girl acting out at her Electric Boulevard home. She left before police arrived, but officers found her two hours later at the Avon Lake Public Library.
Electric scooter found
A motorist called police about 10:45 a.m. July 20 and said he found an electric scooter at the intersection of Bellaire Road and Durrell Avenue. Police picked it up and will keep it In case anyone claims it.
A 67-year-old Avon Lake man was arrested July 20 for drunk driving after police stopped his car at 9:50 p.m. on Sunset Road for failing to signal a turn.
A 31-year-old Avon Lake man was arrested July 21 for domestic violence after his wife came to the police station at 12:30 a.m. and said that they are going through a divorce and that he wanted to kill her.
Man arrested on warrant
A 23-year-old Westlake man wanted by Westlake police on a drug-possession charge was arrested at 4:40 a.m. after a patrol officer saw a man lying in the back seat of a car with a woman in the Avon Lake High School parking lot. A records check revealed the warrant from Westlake. He was arrested and the woman was let go.
An 18-year-old Bay Village man was arrested July 18 on alcohol- and drug-related offenses after a patrol officer saw him near the intersection of Lincoln and Revere roads at 12:57 a.m. and stopped to talk to him. Police said he apparently had been drinking and after they arrested him, they found marijuana on him.
A 38-year-old Lakewood man was arrested July 22 for drunk driving after police stopped a car that had driven into the area of Columbia Road just south of Lake Road that is closed for construction. The man was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
Catalytic converters stolen
Workers found at 9 a.m. July 22 that the catalytic converters for two work vans for a business in the 600 block of Clague Parkway were stolen overnight.
A resident at the Fairview Village Apartments said someone apparently tried to get into his apartment overnight July 21 since he found the lock mechanism into the kitchen lying in the hallway. A check of the apartment showed nothing missing, he said.
Traffic stop leads to arrest
A 21-year-old Lakewood woman was arrested July 19 for possession of a controlled substance and drug abuse after police stopped a car they said was being driven erratically on Robin Street at 12:15 a.m.
No turn signal leads to arrest
A 26-year-old Euclid man wanted on a warrant by Euclid police was arrested July 20 after Lakewood police initially stopped him at 12:57 a.m. for not using a turn signal when turning off Detroit Avenue. Euclid police wanted him for failure to appear on a charge of driving on a suspended license.

An 18-year-old Lakewood woman said someone took a ball cap, T-shirt and other clothing belonging to her while she was playing at a Madison Avenue playground between 3:45 and 8:30 p.m. July 21.

Concern for fare
An Uber driver called police at 8:52 p.m. July 21 about a fare who appeared to be highly drunk and headed for more alcohol at bars in the 13000 block of Madison Avenue. The driver was concerned that the man couldn’t care for himself and could be in trouble. The man was not found when the area was checked.
A 42-year-old North Olmsted man was arrested at 4:33 p.m. July 16 for drunk driving after police checked a driver’s complaint of a hit-skip accident on Interstate 480. The victim said the other driver drove off after he followed him to the Jamestown Apartments on Columbia Road and spoke to him briefly. However, an officer responding to the victim’s call stopped a car on Elm Road matching the description of the suspect’s car. Police said the man admitted to drinking beers earlier, and first said he wanted to do a field sobriety test, then declined to take any tests and was arrested.
Man to be extradited
A 28-year-old Dexter, Mich. man was arrested for falsification at 3:20 a.m. July 19 after police stopped the car he was driving on Lorain Road because it had a Virginia temporary license plate that expired in February. Police said Brenden Joseph-Lee Kukola gave them a false name of Bobby Johnson, but a check of a wallet in the center console showed his real name and that Michigan officials wanted him extradited for a weapons offense. North Olmsted officers arrested him and alerted Michigan officers.
Shopper caught taking food
A 47-year-old Grafton woman was arrested July 20 for theft after Walmart security said she tried to steal about $115 in assorted food, clothing and household goods by not scanning them at a self-scan register.
Walmart stops man with TV
A 38-year-old Elyria man was arrested July 20 for theft after Walmart staff said he took a TV before he was stopped near an entrance at 10:59 p.m.
Prescription drugs stolen
A bottle of prescription drugs was stolen sometime between 8 p.m. and midnight July 20 from an unlocked car in Ridge Plaza Drive.
Driver arrested after fleeing
A 21-year-old Elyria man was arrested about 2:15 a.m. July 23 for drunk driving, fleeing and related offenses after police checked an accident on Case Road. The driver fled the scene on foot and was caught about a mile away, police said. No injuries were reported.
A safe was found apparently abandoned at 2:30 p.m. on a Winfield Lane construction site. Police said they have been unable to determine where the safe came from.
A 17-year-old North Ridgeville boy was arrested July 15 for possession of alcohol after police stopped the car he was driving on Lorain Road at 7:26 p.m. for speeding. The alcohol was seen in the car, police said.
Police are looking into a Westlake woman’s July 20 complaint that a neighbor made an obscene remark about her 14-year-old daughter.
A 35-year-old North Ridgeville man was arrested July 21 for drunk driving after police checked a 7:59 p.m. report of a fight on West Point Drive. Police said the man was involved in a dispute with another man over a problem they had on the road. No injuries were reported.
A 33-year-old Fairview Park man was arrested July 14 for drunk driving shortly after police were called at 6:15 a.m. about a man asleep in a Jeep in the Lowe’s parking lot at Westgate shopping center. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
Window broken in car
The passenger side window on a 2018 Mazda was broken sometime overnight July 16 while parked at Cliff Towers Condos on Wooster Road. Nothing was reported missing.
Drunk-driving, hit-skip arrest
A 54-year-old North Olmsted man was arrested July 16 on Center Ridge Road shortly after police got a 10:05 p.m. report of a car hitting a fire hydrant on River Oaks Drive then driving off. Police found a car matching the description on Center Ridge Road. The driver admitted to drinking, police said, and was treated for injuries before being arrested.

A 33-year-old North Olmsted woman was arrested July 19 for drunk driving shortly after police stopped an SUV they said was driving erratically on Lake Road. The woman was arrested after failing one field sobriety test and refusing others.
Non-paying cab fare arrested
A 44-year-old Maple Heights woman was arrested for theft July 20 after a cab driver complained that a passenger was not paying for a ride. The driver had taken the woman to a Wooster Road home after she said someone there would pay. But no one was home, prompting the driver to call police.
Hitting median leads to arrest
A 28-year-old Maple Heights man was arrested July 20 on Interstate 90 for drunk driving, obstructing a police officer and related offenses after police checked a 3:05 a.m. report of a car hitting the median in Westlake, then driving off. Police stopped a car matching the description and the driver showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol and refused sobriety tests.
Workers found a purse containing cash and credit cards at Burlington Coat Factory on Colorado Avenue at 12:27 p.m. July 13 and turned it over to police.
A 27-year-old Sheffield Lake man was arrested July 14 for drunk driving and failure to maintain control after police checked a 1:30 a.m. report of a car stuck in a ditch on Oster Road. The driver was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and the car was towed.

A 23-year-old Westlake man was arrested July 21 for drunk driving after police stopped the car he was driving on Dover Center Road at 1:30 a.m. for a traffic violation. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, police said.
Bank card info misused
A Westlake woman said July 21 someone had used her bank card information recently to get cash out of her account from an ATM in Miami. The woman told police she has not been to Miami in years. The card was canceled.
Tools taken from 3 trailers
Three trailers were broken into and about $5,000 in work tools was taken overnight July 22 at OCS Processing on Detroit Road.
Catalytic converters taken
Workers found at 7 a.m. July 22 catalytic converters were cut off two trucks overnight parked in Windsor Realty’s Bassett Road parking area. A nearby trailer was broken into, but nothing was reported missing. Police are checking for links to similar incidents in the past year.
Car check leads to arrest
A 42-year-old Westlake man was arrested at 2 a.m. July 23 after police checked a car parked in front of closed businesses at the King James Parkway-Center Ridge Road intersection. Police said the man was incoherent and that they found several knives in the car. He was arrested for weapons offenses and not keeping control of the car. A powdery substance in a breath mints tin found behind the man’s belt buckle and some pills were sent to a crime lab for testing.
