The Don Umerley Civic Center will close Monday for two weeks for scheduled maintenance.

The city will do general maintenance, which includes deep cleaning, painting and resurfacing the pool. The city also will install new rubber flooring in the fitness center on the second floor, which will cost $40,000, Director of Recreation Bob Holub said.

The center is expected to reopen Aug 12. While it is closed, Fairview Park will allow members to use the Gemini Center.

The Rocky River center goes through annual maintenance to make sure that standards are acceptable for public use, Holub said.
